PIA to Launch London-Sialkot Flights in September

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is going to start direct flights between Sialkot and London from September this year.

According to a statement by PIA, the route will be operational from 10 September, and in the first phase, the airline will run one flight per week.

PIA’s country manager in the UK, Sajid Qaji, has confirmed that the flights from Sialkot to London’s Heathrow airport will fly every Tuesday while the Heathrow-Sialkot flights will operate every Wednesday.

The national flag carrier has also issued the flight schedule for the route:

  • Flight PK777 will take off from Sialkot at 10:15 am every Tuesday and will arrive at Heathrow Airport London at 14:50 local time.
  • Flight PK778 will leave Heathrow at 6:25 pm every Wednesday and will arrive at Sialkot International Airport at 06:25 am.

The route will be significant for Sikh pilgrims coming from abroad to celebrate the 550th Birthday of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

After the direct flights begin, the Sikh pilgrims may opt for the Sialkot route to start their holy journey as it’s 100 kilometers away from Kartarpur Gurdwara.
