Punjab Govt Launches the Revolutionary Police Mobile Khidmat Markaz Van

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, has inaugurated Police Mobile Khidmat Markaz Van service in Jhelum.

Now, the residents of Jhelum will not be required to travel too far to get their driving licenses renewed or to register a criminal report. The police van service will travel across the city to provide such services directly to people’s homes.

IG Punjab, Captain (retd.) Arif Nawaz Khan, who was also present at the occasion, said that the Mobile Khidmat Markaz will be connected with all police stations in the district.

“It would be stationed in different union councils every day,” he said, adding that the department will issue a complete schedule in this regard.

The schedule will help people know when the van will be visiting their area. He added that the facility will not be available on weekends.

Services on offer include:

  • Character certificates
  • Tenant registration
  • General police verification
  • License renewals
  • Inter-district driving licenses & renewals
  • International driving permits,
  • Driving learner’s permits
  • Copies of FIRs
  • Employee registration
  • Crime reports and legal aid for violence against women

“This would prove to be blessing in disguise for the people of Jhelum because they had to travel for hours from distant areas for their police-related matters,” an in-charge of the police van said.

He said the facility will not only save people’s time but will also improve the law and order situation in the city.
