On the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the position of the financial adviser has been removed from all federal ministries.
Effective from today, no federal minister will have a financial adviser on the government’s payroll.

As per the notification circulated on Saturday, the chief finance and accounts’ officers will handle the financial affairs of all ministries and divisions.
The notification said that the move was made under the Financial Management Act 2019 and was part of the economic reforms the government has recently introduced.
