Responding to an emergency situation is not easy. Call it lack of awareness or numbing of senses, but, it can be quite challenging to connect with the right people in case of an emergency.
Thankfully, Karachi-based Jaffer Business Systems Private Limited has launched a ‘Siren App’ which directly connects you to relevant authorities in a single swipe.
A number of stakeholders including Rescue 1299, fire (16), ambulance networks, Police, CPLC, KMC, electric and Sui gas authorities have been taken on-board to facilitate the residents of Karachi in case of emergencies.
Once you are in a panic situation, you only have to swipe right and select the type of emergency. The app automatically broadcasts your location and emergency type to the relevant rescue authority and connects a call directly.
Not only this, but you can also set up 5 emergency contacts who will be notified in case you are caught up in an emergency.
First, you need to download the Android app named ‘Siren App – Emergency, Help, Safety & Rescue Alert‘.
Once downloaded, you can also set up your profile and allow access to your location so that you don’t have to manually input the location of your incident at the time of emergency.
Let’s suppose, God forbid, you are facing an emergency situation. You need to swipe right on the emergency button on the homepage.
You will be directed to this tab where you will see your location at the top. Specify the type of emergency and your emergency will be automatically reported to the relevant department. The app will also automatically dial the emergency number for the authority along with sending notifications to your emergency contacts.
You will also be asked to send the evidence image to ensure that no fake incidents are being reported.
Note: The service is only available in Karachi for now.
