In another possible fake account case, Rs. 555 million have been discovered in a retired police constable’s account from Faisalabad.
The retired constable Arshad Mehmood said he went to a nearby ATM to collect his pension and was shocked at his account balance, which was Rs. 555,300,000.
“I am a retired policeman; my pension is Rs. 25,000 per month, so I have not the slightest of idea where this money came from,” he said, adding that he only got to know this when he checked account balance through an ATM.
I freaked out for a moment. I had no idea what to do with this, how to react.
After a couple of minutes, Arif said, he informed the bank about his concern. After his complaint, the bank manager withdrew the additional amount of money from the account. However, it is still a mystery to him that where the money came from.
