FBR Warns Non-Filer Industrial Gas Consumers to Register Voluntarily

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started issuing notices regarding the Voluntarily Sales Tax Registration to the non-filer industrial gas consumers.

The notices are sent to encourage the non-filing commercial gas consumers to register themselves voluntarily.

It states that the board is giving another opportunity to non-filers to apply for the registration before the final date of 17th October 2019.

Whereas you have not yet got yourself registered; therefore, you are hereby given another opportunity to apply for registration.

Although the notification is a ‘voluntary’ call, the revenue watchdog is, however, threatening of serious actions against non-compilers.

The notice mentions that those who fail to register by the aforementioned date will face a penalty under section 7 of section 33 (1) of the sales Act 1990. It also threatened that the non-filers could also be arrested under the charges of tax fraud.

The notification mentioned that the FBR will process the case of compliers on a priority bases. It was unclear whether such industrialists will be offered any perks.
