Shahid Afridi Names His Captain of Choice for Pakistan in Next T20 World Cup

Following Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed as the captain across formats, the former cricketers have weighed in with their opinions.

Former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi is not happy with Babar Azam’s appointment as captain in the shortest format, saying that Shoaib Malik was the better choice to captain Pakistan until the T20 World Cup in 2020.

Talking about Babar, he was of the view that despite being a consistent performer, Malik would have been a better choice.

He is a consistent performer for Pakistan but Shoaib Malik would have been the sensible choice to lead Pakistan in next year’s tournament given that he has been playing cricket for quite some time around the world and is representing the national side at the moment as well.

The former all-rounder added that Sarfaraz can still play for the country if he works hard in domestic cricket.

You can play as a player and you are at an age where you can take your career forward and make a comeback in the national side by working hard in domestic cricket.
