Dr Nauman Niaz Attributes Usman Qadir’s Selection to Friendship With Babar Azam

Pakistan’s squad for T20I and Test series in Australia has been announced after plenty of speculation and there are a few new names in the side.

The addition of youngsters has been praised by many, however, some senior cricketers and journalists are of the view that experienced campaigners would have fared better on the tough tour.

Renowned broadcast journalist and Head of PTV Sports, Dr. Nauman Niaz, believes that Usman Qadir, son of the legendary leg-spinner Abdul Qadir, got the call-up due to his friendship with T20I captain, Babar Azam.

He made the claim in a tweet earlier today while also highlighting the figures of another talented leg-spinner, Zahid Mehmood, who has been performing consistently well in the shortest format of the game.

Usman Qadir, a talented leg spinner picked on the Pak T20 team. Preferred because of skill, talent, age, sympathy & friendship with Baber probably.

Other cricket gurus are hailing the decision to include him in the squad for his experience in Australian conditions, where he has played the domestic cricket and Big Bash League in the last couple of years.
