Breaking: Fawad Alam Named in Pakistan’s Squad for Sri Lanka Series

Following extreme criticism against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the exclusion of Fawad Alam from the Test squad, the board has decided to include him for the series against Sri Lanka.

The left-handed batsman has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and recently crossed 13,000 first-class runs with a career average of over 50.

The decision to bring Fawad is to strengthen the batting core, which was exposed during the recently concluded tour against Australia.

The last time Fawad featured in Pakistan Test squad was in November 2009. It has taken almost a decade for him to make a comeback despite being one of the best batsmen in the domestic circuit each year.

He will replace Iftikhar Ahmed in the Test squad which traveled to Australia. Additionally, Mohammad Musa has also been replaced by Usman Khan Shinwari.

Here is the complete squad:

Azhar Ali (c) Abid Ali Asad Shafiq Babar Azam
Fawad Alam Haris Sohail Imam-ul-Haq Imran Khan
Kashif Bhatti Mohammad Abbas Mohammad Rizwan Naseem Shah
Shaheen Shah Shan Masood Yasir Shah Usman Shinwari
