Huawei’s ex-subsidiary, Honor, has finally unveiled its first product as an independent company. The handset’s launch was pushed forward twice due to unknown reasons but the company has finally managed to pull it off.
The premium looking device comes with Dimensity 1000+ chipset, a new 50 MP camera, and speedy charging.
The Honor V40 5G is equipped with a curved 6.72-inch OLED featuring a pill-shaped cutout, 120 Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, a 1236 x 2676 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 439 PPI density, and a peak brightness of 800 nits.
Internally, the handset is driven by Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ (7nm) mobile platform topped with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB onboard storage.
It runs on the dated Android 10 with Magic UI 4.0. However, we don’t know if the phone is compatible with GMS or not since the event was held in China and all smartphones in the region ship without GMS.
The smartphone comes with a triple sensor camera on the back with a 50 MP RYYB sensor that is 1/1.56” big, an 8 MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 2 MP cam for close-up shots. The front camera consists of a 32 MP main sensor and a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor.
The Honor V40 5G is fueled by a 4000 mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging. According to the company, it lets you go flat to 100% in 35 minutes.
The V40 is already up for sale with the base variant costing $555.
