Neki and ibadat take the center stage during Ramzan, and each year, Surf Excel highlights the importance of these being reflections of each other with a multitude of stories that touch the heart and leave us thinking about more than just those close to us.

In 2021 too, the super-popular brand has gone on the same path and tugged at our heartstrings with its heartwarming yet thought-provoking narrative!

Exploring the idea of children visiting an old-age home to celebrate the first day of Ramzan, the ad shows us a mixed-bag of joyful emotions where excited children get to spend the day with the elderly to bring a smile to their faces, as together, they go through a range of activities together.

There’s a lot of love and laughter that takes over the seldom-visited old-age home, and both sides find solace in each other. There are beautiful moments explored such as children painting beautiful Ramzan Mubarak posters as they get stained and things like the elderly feeding the children in an animated manner where they end up spilling a lot on themselves – everything that makes them happy to be there for each other.

There’s a plethora of contrasting emotions, however, when we find the children nearing the end of their day and heading back to the bus. There’s poignancy around and neither the elderly nor the children really want to leave. We soon find out that the children too, come from an orphanage, and have lost their loved ones.

Sparking an emotion of belonging to each other, the ad hits upon that eureka moment here, where an idea to stay together and support each other comes through.

Dialogues like “Inhone bhi kisiko khoya hai, aur humne bhi” and “Saath reh lenge, toh koi akela nahi rahega,” take over our emotions and make us root for places where those who have lost their loved ones can come together and enjoy like ordinary families do across the country.

Making a point about the over five million orphans and adults in old age homes, ‘Ek Mukammal Jahan’ brings Surf Excel’s initiative to the forefront, which aims at helping those who lose family members to experience the joy of being a part of one, once again.
