Swvl Creates Clutter-Breaking Billboards Targeted at City Commuters

If you’re a regular commuter in one of Pakistan’s big cities you must have seen some of the mysterious billboards that popped up around your route to work and back in the last few weeks or so.

These attention-grabbing massive outdoor billboards had on them some very quirky one-liners that got people talking on social media.

To add to the conversations these communications were un-branded which added to the mystique of this marketing stunt.

“Long distance sambhalna mushkil?”, “Ufff, itni lambi drive, rozana?”, “Neend phir poori nahi howi?” are some of the attention-grabbing one-liners commuters came across in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

Influencers, bloggers, and major publishers took to their social media handles to shed their two cents regarding what these billboards were all about.

And so the guessing game began! From Ali Gul Pir and Mubeen Ul Haq to major publications like Sunday Times, FHM, and metronome – social media was ablaze!

Fast forward to now – and we finally have the answers! It has been revealed that Swvl – the ride-sharing transportation app- was the genius behind this marketing stunt. Which, if you ask us, makes total sense given the questions that were posed on these outdoor ads.

The one-liners were actually insights and issues that commuters in big cities face in their daily struggle to travel within and between cities.

The answer to the woes of daily travel was answered brilliantly on those very billboards with the added line “..koi baat Nahi, Swvl hai.”

Just like clockwork, the internet responded immediately and quite positively – giving props to the brand for trying out something creative in a stagnant marketing landscape.

We love the mystery and conversation surrounding the billboards and we hope more brands follow suit with more innovative and conversation-inducing marketing efforts.

Does Swvl really answer these nagging pains of commuters? The ride-sharing app is offering travel within for as low as Rs. 30!

The app offers ways to book a particular ride in advance which is just great for not worrying about getting a comfy seat which isn’t the case with public bus transportation.

The app even offers a ridiculous amount of pick-up and drop locations, making sure you can get a ride no matter where you are. Swvl is really easy on the budget and quite convenient when it comes to city-to-city travel!

Let’s face it, flying back and forth from Karachi to Lahore can put a dent in your budget. Why not go for Swvl – which in our mind is the most comfortable, safe, and affordable alternative!

We think Swvl does answer the conundrums that commuters face by offering comfort, convenience, and affordability.

So kudos to Swvl for going big with their marketing campaign and getting the word out on a service that we think can do wonders for people trying to get to work and back with the least amount of issues possible.

Have you tried out the app yet? Are you tired of spending loads on cab apps? Looking for a safe, convenient, and affordable option? We can’t think of a better bet than Swvl.
