In a major operation on Friday, the FIA Composite Circle Abbottabad arrested four officials from the Postal Department involved in a corruption case exceeding Rs. 300 million.
The details revealed that four employees from the Postal Department in Abbottabad, identified as Hafeez, Waheed, Hameed, and Khalil, were apprehended. The arrests followed the cancellation of their bail by the Special Judge Central Anti-Corruption Abbottabad Court.
The FIA spokesperson stated that the accused, employees of the Postal Department Abbottabad, ransacked the savings accounts of GPO Abbottabad. They allegedly hacked into the accounts of deceased customers and deed accounts, committing over Rs. 300 million in corruption through irregularities in profit and loss calculations and falsifying zakat and tax rates. The investigation has commenced following their arrests.
