Jinnah Medical Complex Launched for Free Treatment of Deserving People

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony of the Jinnah Medical Complex, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility aimed at providing free medical treatment to deserving patients from across the country.

In his address, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering modern healthcare services at no cost to the underprivileged. He described the complex as one of the region’s premier medical centers, set to offer 100% free treatment for various diseases, including heart, kidney, lung, and cancer-related ailments.

“This is a gift from the coalition government not only for the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan,” the Prime Minister stated.

The medical complex will feature cutting-edge healthcare facilities and a modern first-aid emergency section. Additionally, an air ambulance service will be available for patients from remote areas.

PM Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the complex’s inspiration from the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), launched by Nawaz Sharif. He noted that the PKLI had provided free treatment and was recognized as one of the best hospitals in South Asia before a conspiracy dismantled its board, transferring control to the health department and away from its trust.

“This project was a model of excellence, offering free healthcare to the public as a fundamental right,” the Prime Minister lamented, referring to the PKLI. “However, it was sabotaged, which we will not let happen again with the Jinnah Medical Complex.”

The Prime Minister extended special thanks to HBL Chairman Sultan Ali Allana and Prince Rahim Aga Khan for their technical consultancy support for the project.

PM Shehbaz Sharif directed the authorities to complete the Jinnah Medical Complex within a year, acknowledging the ambitious nature of the timeline but expressing confidence in the project’s timely completion through hard work and dedication.

The Islamabad Chief Commissioner was commended for arranging the land for the project. The ceremony was attended by Health Coordinator Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, MNAs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Hanif Abbasi, and Raja Khurrum Nawaz, along with Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar.
