The Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service has resumed operations following a temporary halt caused by a sit-in organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) protesting high electricity rates.
Metro bus officials have confirmed that the service is back up and running from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad Secretariat, with all stations fully operational.
Containers have been removed from Chandni Chowk, and the majority of obstacles on Murree Road have been cleared to allow for the resumption of Metro bus services.
The Metro Bus Service had to be shut down temporarily following the announcement of protests by two major political parties in the country. Its suspension caused considerable inconvenience for commuters.
The lack of this essential public transport option disrupted daily routines and added financial strain for those who depended on it.
