Punjab Food Authority Seizes Hundreds of Liters of Adulterated Milk

Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, along with DG Punjab Food Authority Asim Javed and Dairy Safety teams, inspected dairy shops in Lahore’s upscale areas of Gulberg II and III. The inspection covered the quality of milk and yogurt at various shops, leading to fines for eight out of 20 milk shops and improvement notices for 11. A total of 1,085 liters of substandard milk was confiscated.

The minister cited unhygienic freezers, use of smelly wooden sticks, and poor sanitation as reasons for the fines. Citizens are encouraged to get their milk tested for free at Punjab Food Authority offices, with facilities available in all districts. Complaints about fake and adulterated milk can be reported on the toll-free number 1223.
