The Sindh government has introduced a new policy banning the use of plastic water bottles in all government offices across the province.
The decision was made during a provincial cabinet meeting on Friday, after which a circular was issued to formalize the directive.
According to the circular, all government offices need to replace plastic bottles with more sustainable alternatives such as glass jugs and glasses for drinking water. The Sindh government has decided to ban plastic water bottles in all government offices to reduce plastic use and support environmental cleanliness.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination implemented a ban on sweetened sugary drinks at official meetings within the ministry and its affiliated departments.
The Federal Ministry of Health issued a directive banning the use of sugary beverages at official meetings and events. This decision was made after the Minister of Health observed that sugary drinks were linked to various health issues, including communicable and non-communicable diseases.
