The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the ongoing spell of rain in Lahore is expected to persist for the next three days.
Lahore is experiencing a heavy monsoon spell, with dark clouds overhead and varying intensities of rain across different areas. On Tuesday, Nishtar Colony recorded the highest rainfall at 28mm.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain has persisted in Lahore for the second consecutive day.
Various areas of Lahore, such as Lakshmi Chowk, Gulberg, Upper Mall, Jail Road, Kalma Chowk, Walton Road, and Ferozepur Road, have experienced heavy rainfall. The combination of strong winds and rain has brought a refreshing change to the weather, alleviating the intense heat.
As the rain persisted, many passers-by sought refuge from the downpour. A significant number of citizens were observed taking cover under the Metro bus track to stay dry.
Monsoon rains have caused severe damage in Balochistan, with the latest spell in Quetta claiming three more lives in different incidents. According to the Balochistan PDMA, the monsoon has resulted in 19 deaths, including seven children, and left 11 people injured since July 1.
