The district administration has announced plans to set up 10 Sahulat Bazaars across the garrison city to offer vegetables at reduced prices to residents.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema told Dawn that three bazaars have already been established at Shamsabad, Chur Chaki, and Haideri Chowk, with locations for seven more to be finalized in the coming days.
Mr. Cheema explained that these bazaars would provide vegetables to the public at affordable rates.
He added that the Punjab government has directed the administration to ensure maximum facilities for residents.
Wholesalers will set up their stalls without any fees and sell vegetables at wholesale prices. The primary goal of this initiative is to help alleviate the impact of inflation.
