LDA Continues Operation Against Illegal Buildings in Lahore

Continuing its crackdown on commercial fee defaulters and illegal constructions in various areas, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) carried out a major operation on Wednesday.

The operation was overseen by Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman and executed by Directors TP Ayesha Mutahir and Ahmed Saeed in Timber Market, Gujjarpura, Sabzazar, Gulshan Ravi, and the surrounding areas of Shadman.

LDA teams demolished four illegal constructions in Timber Market and two in Gujjarpura. They also sealed 20 properties in Gulshan Ravi for non-payment of commercial fees and five properties for violating construction material regulations. These properties included private schools, clinics, grocery shops, and banks.

In a separate operation, LDA Town Planning Zone II staff targeted various blocks in Sabzazar and Mustafa Town, sealing over 20 properties for non-payment of commercial fees. The affected properties included private schools, grocery shops, property offices, tailor shops, motorcycle shops, catering centers, steel stores, and others.

Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq visited Pine Avenue and Ada Plot to review the ongoing operation against encroachments. Encroachments of 20 to 30 feet established by property owners were removed, along with illegal signboards and advertisement boards placed in the parking area.
