Heroin Worth Millions Discovered in Sack of Potatoes at Karachi Airport

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully intercepted a large consignment of heroin cleverly concealed within a shipment of potatoes, destined for Sri Lanka.

The operation was conducted at the Karachi International Container Terminal following intelligence reports. ANF officials uncovered approximately 5 kilograms of heroin, skillfully hidden in 122 potatoes spread across 80 sacks in the refrigerated container. The price of heroin is around 24-50 Euros per gram, which translates into several million rupees for 5 KG of heroin.

Each sack contained one or two potatoes packed with the narcotic, making the discovery a painstaking task for the inspection team. According to an ANF spokesperson, the heroin-filled container was booked by a private company.

One individual has been arrested in connection with the attempted smuggling, and authorities are continuing their probe to uncover further suspects involved in the illicit operation. The arrested suspect has been transferred to the ANF’s custody for further questioning, with additional raids expected as the investigation widens.
