Suno AI Can Change The Genre of Any Song With a Few Words

Suno, the AI-powered music creation platform, has expanded its capabilities beyond generating original compositions. The company has unveiled a new feature called Covers, which promises to reimagine existing music.

Currently, in its beta phase, Covers allows users to transform songs into entirely new genres, akin to applying a filter to a photograph or instructing ChatGPT to emulate a specific author’s writing style. This innovative tool can process a wide range of audio inputs, from casual recordings of shower singing to professionally produced tracks, and reinterpret them in multiple musical styles while maintaining the original melody.

The core concept behind Covers is to preserve the essential elements of the original song while offering a fresh stylistic interpretation. Users can easily access this feature by selecting a track from their library and choosing the “Cover Song” option from the menu. Suno’s AI then processes the track, adapting it to the user-selected style.

The tool offers the ability to add genre-appropriate lyrics to instrumental pieces. This functionality allows users to breathe new life into songs that lack vocals. Even though Suno can automatically generate lyrics that suit your song style, the company recommends tweaking the lyrics yourself to make sure they make sense.

Suno said in a blog post:

We know that music is personal, and Covers give you the tools to explore even more ways to connect with your music. Whether you’re experimenting with genre-crossing remixes, adding vocals to an instrumental, or simply curious about how your track might sound in a different context, Covers opens up a world of possibilities.
