Punjab Makes Biometric Attendance Mandatory in Another Department

The Punjab Home Department has made biometric attendance mandatory for all prison employees and officers across the province. This move is part of the ongoing reforms in Punjab’s jails, following directives from the Chief Minister.

In this regard, the Punjab Home Department has issued a notification to the IG Prisons, DIGs, and all jail superintendents, instructing senior officials to ensure that all staff members in their respective prisons mark their attendance using the biometric system.

According to the directive, any officer or staff member without biometric attendance will be considered absent. All personnel are required to mark their attendance through the biometric system at the beginning and end of each day.

This order applies to all officers and staff members serving in jails throughout Punjab.
