Dubai to Develop Unmanned Police Boats to Increase Security

Dubai Police have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Trident Engineering & Marine to advance the design and manufacturing of their unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), or drone boats.

This MoU is part of the ongoing development of the Dubai Police Smart Boat (Haddad), a project aimed at enhancing security coverage of the emirate’s water areas. The Haddad initiative also supports the smart transformation of security operations, reduces the operational and maintenance costs of security boats, improves response times, and strengthens databases through field surveys. Dubai Police noted that Haddad is the first project of its kind in the region.

Maj-Gen Dr. Saleh Abdullah Murad, director of the General Department of Human Resources, who signed the MoU on behalf of Dubai Police, stated that the Haddad project is based on extensive research, studies, and collaboration with relevant entities to ensure it becomes a model both locally and globally.

He also highlighted the importance of partnerships in sharing expertise, knowledge, and specialized skills to help achieve Dubai Police’s strategic goals.
