Following the official release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, smartphone manufacturers are rapidly announcing launch dates for their upcoming flagship devices.
Asus is the latest to join this trend, revealing that its ROG Phone 9 series will debut on November 19th at a dedicated event starting at 12 PM CET, which is 4 PM PKT.
Asus has shared official renders of the ROG Phone 9, which closely resembles the design of the ROG Phone 8 series. The phone features a distinctive pentagon-shaped camera module with three sensors and a gaming-oriented aesthetic with ROG branding and LED lights.
The front boasts a flat display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Additionally, the right side of the device includes pressure-sensitive AirTriggers marked with ROG branding.
Asus has hinted at new AI features for its upcoming ROG Phone 9 series, using the tagline “AI on, game on” for the launch event. While specific details about these features remain undisclosed, we can expect to learn more in the coming days. We’ll keep you updated with the latest information as it becomes available.
The Asus ROG series of phones are typically maxed out in terms of specifications, so other than the obvious Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, we can expect the usual LTPO AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and 1080p resolution. Memory options will likely go up 1 TB of storage and up to 24 GB of RAM while the battery should be at least 5,500 mAh or bigger with fast wired charging.
Camera quality is usually not top-tier when it comes to gaming phones, but Asus may just have a surprise for us this time around. Lastly, the AI features will likely have to do with gaming and image editing.
