Rashna Gazder and Students Perform at Charity Concert for Indus Hospital’s Cancer Children

A beautiful evening was held at a local hotel in Karachi where Rashna Gazder, her piano pupils & senior musicians performed for Cancer children of Indus Hospital.

Indus Hospital & Health Network is well respected for treating thousands of patients in Karachi and other distant locations of Pakistan totally free of cost. The Children’s Cancer Wards treat young patients free thanks to the generous donations they receive.

The evening started with a masterpiece. Rashna Gazder on the piano & Terence Joseph on the keyboard performed Fusion with a Modern Twist. A brilliant performance raising the bar for more beautiful performances.

The piano playing was magnificent with school & university pupils who formed Group Harmony In Helping Hands. This was their ninth fundraiser helping the needy patients in Pakistan.

Afshad Sidhwa, Zehra Zonash, Fatima Gardezi & Alizeh Fatimi , university students were outstanding in their performances.Their confidence and style was amazing.

The programme had a lovely mix of piano pieces ranging from River Flows In You by Yiruma to Annie’s Song by John Denver and Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss. Younger school children performed short pieces to perfection which added to the beauty of the event.

Senior performers Janelle Dias and Azad Iqbal grandson of Allama Iqbal sang powerfully.  Movie themes from Titanic  and The Godfather were noteworthy.

Hero, sung by Janelle Dias was a dedication to Children who are getting treatment for Cancer at Indus Hospital. Visual screens arranged by Rashna’s son Dr Darayus Gazder lifted each performance into an enjoyable experience.

Survivor of Pancreatic cancer Saif Ullah who was treated in 2016 by Indus hospital made a special entry and praised the hardwork of the team at Indus. It was an evening evoking myriad emotions as Music for a cause touched the hearts of the audience.

Mr. Salim Razzak Tabani, Director at Indus Hospital & Health Network while expressing his views at the event said that we are making expansion and building partnerships. Children cancer hospital has now merged with the Indus hospital. So far we have treated 14,000 children cancer patients and the number is increasing every passing day.

He further highlighted that Indus network is working with provincial governments of Punjab & Sindh to ensure the access of quality health care to the people living in the far flung areas.
