Culprit of Recent Bank Robberies in Islamabad Killed During Transport

A shooting incident unfolded in the Sumbal Police Station area of Islamabad, resulting in the death of Suleman, a suspect linked to recent bank robberies. The police team was transporting Suleman for a recovery operation when they came under fire from armed assailants near Golra Mor.

According to police sources, the attackers ambushed the team, but the police personnel, equipped with bulletproof vests, remained unharmed. However, the suspect, Suleman, who was in custody, was hit by gunfire and critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, Suleman succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The police stated that Suleman was a key suspect in several recent bank robberies in the region. His death has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the ambush and the involvement of other individuals in the attack.

Last month, two daylight bank robberies rocked the federal capital, leaving one man dead and seven others wounded. The first robbery occurred at the National Bank located at Peshawar Mor, where a motorcyclist opened fire on security guards.

Three guards—Ziaul Haq, Salimullah, and Qasim Shah—were injured, along with three nearby hotel employees. Tragically, one of the hotel staff members, Mir Haider, succumbed to his injuries later, while Nazirullah and Nadeem also sustained injuries in the attack.

In a separate incident, robbers targeted the Allied Bank in G-14, injuring a security guard and escaping with millions of rupees.
