The recent capture of a notorious ‘billionaire thief’ in Lahore has created a major buzz, as the suspect, known for his long-running theft spree in upscale neighborhoods, has been caught after 15 years.
The suspect, identified as Bilal, reportedly admitted to targeting several affluent areas over the years, including a high-profile burglary at the home of former national cricket star Abdul Razzaq.
According to police sources, the break-in at Abdul Razzaq’s residence took place around 11 years ago in Lahore’s Defence area, one of the city’s most secure and prestigious localities. During this incident, Bilal allegedly stole Rs. 8.8 million in cash, alongside foreign currencies, including US dollars and British pounds, as well as a passport.
Despite extensive investigations at the time, Bilal remained out of reach of law enforcement, leaving authorities without a trace.
Police investigations reveal that Bilal’s operations span multiple years, with an estimated amount of stolen wealth reaching billions of rupees. He primarily targeted elite residential areas, using meticulous planning and execution, which allowed him to evade capture for over a decade and a half.
Adding a surprising twist to his story, Bilal reportedly uniquely allocated his stolen gains. According to police sources, he would split the stolen money into three parts—one portion he would keep for his personal use, the second he would give to impoverished relatives, and the third portion he would distribute among the poor.
