The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced plans to construct the city’s first-ever cycling track. Project planning has already started on an urgent basis.
RDA Director General, Kinza Murtaza, shared the update with journalists in Rawalpindi. She explained that the cycling track will extend from Katchari Chowk to the Faizabad Interchange, linking the twin cities.
The track will be built on both sides of the road, and motorcyclists will also be permitted to use it to ease their commute.
Regarding the project’s cost and funding, Murtaza noted that the RDA aims to complete the track through corporate social responsibility initiatives with private sector support. However, if needed, RDA will fund the project independently due to its public and eco-friendly benefits.
