The Regional Tax Office, Islamabad on Monday sealed two prominent restaurants in the city after citizens reported that the restaurants were issuing fake receipts/invoices.
This is in line with FBR’s drive to bring Tier-1 Retailers/Restaurants under the tax net through POS Invoicing system, FBR said in a statement.
After determining that the reported receipts were counterfeit, a team of RTO Islamabad led by Deputy Commissioner sealed two restaurants and their subsidiary branches in Islamabad and also imposed a total penalty of Rs. 1 million on these restaurants.
FBR is committed to discourage the fake invoices culture and ensure tax compliance through effective enforcement of tax regulations., the statement added.
Back in November, the Regional Tax Office sealed five prominent restaurants in the city on account of issuing fake invoices/receipts.
Note: The names of the restaurants were not disclosed by FBR.

FBR has not disclosed name of restaurants because they will blackmail them take bribe and let them go scot free or with superficial penalty.
name?
I reported few but to date status is pending
McDonald's in Centaurus doesn't charge 5% on card. It charges 15 or whatever... Reported multiple times and still no action
FBR should disclose the names of Restaurants/Retailers for the benefit of general public otherwise it vl b a futile effort.or in other words "Mili bhugat".Only those r raided who r reported by public.Others since feed free or bribe FBR staff r free to loot public.
These organisations should be sealed at least for a month.Heavy penalty should be imposed.
The news is incomplete and unauthentic. If FBR has not disclosed names, the news should not be published here. By the way FBR has not disclosed names because they know restaurants are sealed for 1 day or maximum 2 just to increase the bribe rate, these will reopen very soon.
