A motorbike delivery rider, Ejaz, was severely injured after being assaulted by female police officers in Islamabad’s Blue Area. The officers involved have been suspended following the incident.
Ejaz reported that his phone had switched off, which delayed the delivery of a parcel. Upon arrival, he was verbally abused and repeatedly slapped by the officers for being late. Despite calling the emergency helpline 15, no assistance was provided.
The Inspector General of Islamabad Police has taken notice of the incident. The officers involved were immediately suspended, and a two-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The inquiry is ongoing.
