CDA and Housing Foundation Officials Arrested in Fake Land Transfer Case

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad has taken four individuals into custody, including officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation, on charges of corruption and fraud.

Authorities identified the suspects as Fakhar Abbas, Rana Munir, Meraj Afridi, and Qaiser Abbas. Their arrests followed the cancellation of their pre-arrest bail by the Special Judge Central Islamabad.

Fakhar Abbas, a CDA patwari, was accused of fabricating reports about land in Mouza Shah Allah Ditta, Sector D-13. He allegedly falsified ownership documents for four kanals of land, fraudulently registering the property using a fake power of attorney in collaboration with his co-conspirators.

The suspects reportedly swindled Rs7 million from the complainant. FIA officials stated that Munir, who served as Deputy Director at the Housing Foundation, along with Afridi, an Executive Engineer, and Qaiser Abbas, forged documents to transfer ownership of the land to an unauthorized party.

Cases were filed against the group last year. Following the arrests, authorities are conducting further operations to apprehend additional individuals involved in the scheme.
