Dubai police have arrested a group of Western women accused of mocking a burqa-clad woman in a local restaurant, following the circulation of a controversial video online.
The video, which quickly gained traction on social media, showed the women filming the burqa-clad diner without her consent and making derogatory remarks about her attire. Reports indicate the woman was dining with her husband when the incident occurred.
Authorities confirmed that the tourists violated UAE laws, which strictly forbid recording individuals without their approval.
