Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is currently busy preparing for some big changes to his economic team, with key appointments in prominent financial roles expected soon, high level sources told ProPakistani.
Sources from within the PM’s Secretariat said the Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal is likely to be appointed as Executive Director at the World Bank.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tauqir Shah, currently serving as Executive Director at the World Bank, is expected to return to Pakistan and be inducted into the federal cabinet.
Further changes are expected in the Finance Division. Sources said Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Rashid Mahmood Langrial and senior bureaucrat Owais Manzoor Samra, are being considered for the post of Finance Secretary. If Langrial is appointed as Secretary Finance, BS-21 officer (Inland Revenue Service) Hamid Ateeq Sarwar will likely become the next FBR chairman, sources added.
