A high-ranking Bangladeshi defense delegation, led by Lieutenant General SM Qamarul Hassan, visited Pakistan on Wednesday and met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad.
The focus of the visit revolved around strengthening military ties, with particular attention given to Pakistan’s indigenously developed JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.
The JF-17 Thunder, a multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by Pakistan and China, has gained recognition for its advanced capabilities, including air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, at a competitive cost.
Its adaptability and cutting-edge features have made it a standout choice for countries seeking high performance without exorbitant expenses.
During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to fostering closer military cooperation with Bangladesh. Discussions included proposals for joint training initiatives and exploring avenues for broader collaboration between their air forces.
Lieutenant General Hassan commended the PAF’s advancements in technology and infrastructure. He expressed particular interest in the JF-17 Thunder’s production process and praised Pakistan’s ability to develop sophisticated military hardware domestically.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral defense ties and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth.
