The Ministry of IT and Telecom has laid out a comprehensive timeline for the launch of 5G services in Pakistan.
A June 2025 rollout has been planned for telecom operators, according to official documents presented in Parliament. This means telcos will start launching 5G across the country July 2025 onwards.
Recommendations by a consultant to the Spectrum Advisory Committee will be submitted by February. In March, the committee will finalize policy reforms addressing spectrum pricing, trading conditions, and taxation.
April will see the federal government’s approval of a policy directive, followed by the auctioning of 3500 MHz, 2600 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 700 MHz spectrum bands in May.
