American Woman Stranded in Karachi as Teenage Lover Ditches Her

A 33-year-old American woman was left stranded in Karachi after her 19-year-old online boyfriend abandoned her, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Onya Andrew’s online relationship with a Karachi resident, Nidal Ahmed Memon, took a heartbreaking turn when he rejected her after she arrived in Karachi.

The US woman revealed that she had left everything behind—her two children and even her husband, whom she divorced—to travel to Pakistan for her boyfriend on October 11, 2024.

The sudden rejection left Onya devastated and stranded. With her visa expired and no money or accommodation, she has been stuck at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport for the past seven days.

Onya obtained a 30-day travel permit to Pakistan after applying for a visa in October. However, upon meeting Nidal, she discovered his love had been insincere, and he turned her away.

The matter was brought to the attention of the police on Monday night by the Airport Security Force (ASF). Authorities confirmed that Onya will be sent back to the US with the assistance of an NGO.

Police stated that Onya Andrew is scheduled to depart for the US from Karachi airport tomorrow night.
