The total tax collection of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stood at Rs. 872 billion during January 2025 against the target of Rs. 956 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs. 84 billion.
Tax collection figures revealed that the FBR has collected Rs. 6,496 billion during the first seven months (July-January) of the current fiscal year (FY25) against the assigned target of Rs. 6,964 billion, reflecting a massive shortfall of Rs. 468 billion.
ProPakistani had reported earlier that FBR faces an uphill task to meet the revenue collection target for January 2025. However, FBR officials remain optimistic that they will be able to meet the revenue collection target for the current fiscal year (FY25) with tax collection expected to increase as economic activity increases in the coming months.
