Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday signed 24 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) across various sectors, including trade, media, defense, and healthcare.
Key agreements included a Joint Declaration on the 7th Turkey-Pakistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, an MoU between the Export Credit Bank of Turkey and the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan, and a technical cooperation agreement between the central banks of both countries. Additionally, both nations signed a Joint Ministerial Statement on increasing trade in goods, alongside agreements on industrial property cooperation and digital verification of trade certificates.
Defense collaboration was reinforced through MoUs covering the exchange of military and civilian personnel, electronic warfare cooperation, and training in military health. Turkey’s Aerospace Industries signed an MoU with Pakistan’s Naval Research and Development Institute.
Both sides inked agreements covering the production of agricultural seeds, energy transition, mining, water resource management, and hydrocarbons. Other MoUs included halal trade cooperation, legal metrology infrastructure, and public relations and communication strategies.
The two nations also inked agreements in media, competition regulation, religious education, health, and pharmaceuticals, alongside an agreement for the co-production of audio-visual content.
