The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) has issued a weather advisory warning of rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and snowfall in various parts of the country from February 25 to March 1.
According to the advisory, Islamabad, upper Punjab, the Potohar region, and parts of central, southern, and northeastern Punjab will likely experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms. Some areas may also witness hailstorms or snowfall. Heavy rainfall in these regions could result in flash floods.
In Balochistan, western, northwestern, and northern areas are expected to see rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hills. Flash flooding remains a concern in vulnerable regions.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s upper and western parts may face strong winds, thunderstorms, and snowfall, including the Malakand and Hazara divisions. Heavy rain in northern KP could lead to landslides and flash floods.
Similar weather conditions are forecasted in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, where snowfall may disrupt transportation and daily activities. Meanwhile, Sindh is expected to remain cold and dry.
The National Disaster Monitoring Authority (NDMA) is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating response efforts. Authorities have advised travelers, especially in Murree and Galliyat, to exercise caution. The public is encouraged to stay updated through the ‘Pak NDMA Alert App.’
