Xiaomi is moving forward with the launch of its highly anticipated SU7 Ultra, a high-performance electric sedan that has already gained attention for its record-breaking speed.
Marketed as the fastest four-door sedan, the SU7 Ultra has set a new Nürburgring track record, making waves in the EV market. After being available for pre-sale since October 2024, the model is now officially open for configuration and orders, marking an important milestone in Xiaomi’s automotive journey.
Pricing and Performance
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra comes in multiple configurations, with prices starting at RMB 529,900 ($73,000) for the base model. However, for those seeking top-tier performance, the highest-end version is priced at RMB 814,900 ($112,000). Notably, this premium variant delivers 1,526 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds. As a result, this places it among the fastest electric sedans in the world.
In addition to its impressive speed, Xiaomi has equipped the vehicle with CATL’s Qilin 2.0 battery, boasting a 93.7 kWh capacity and offering a remarkable range of up to 620 km on a single charge. Therefore, this blend of power and efficiency makes the SU7 Ultra a strong contender in the high-performance EV segment.
Demand and Deliveries
As Xiaomi continues to expand its presence in the automotive sector, demand for the SU7 Ultra remains strong. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the company has already received over 6,900 new orders, not including those from the pre-sale phase. Given this strong response, Xiaomi is preparing to begin deliveries of 10,000 units in April, signaling a major step forward for the brand.
Looking at the broader picture, the Xiaomi SU7 series has far exceeded initial expectations, with over 150,000 units shipped—well above the company’s original targets. As a result, Xiaomi is now setting its sights even higher, aiming to sell 300,000 units in 2025, further solidifying its growing presence in the EV market.
