Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has issued guidelines for Umrah pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of vaccinations to prevent infectious diseases before travel.
Pilgrims are required to receive the meningitis vaccine at least 10 days before their journey, as it significantly lowers the risk of infection, the ministry stated.
Authorities have also recommended seasonal flu and influenza vaccinations, particularly for elderly individuals and those with chronic illnesses. The ministry advised completing these vaccinations at least two weeks before departure.
“Stay protected—get vaccinated to perform Umrah with ease and focus,” the ministry urged.
Additionally, the ministry has launched a public health initiative, Healthy Living, aimed at promoting overall well-being among both residents and visitors.
