International Coal Prices Drop to 4-year Low

International coal prices have dropped to a four-year low, according to Bloomberg data.

International coal prices (Richards Bay) have dropped to USD 90.80/ton, marking the lowest level since 12 March 2021, when they were at $90.10/ton.

According to Arif Habib Limited, for every $5/ton decrease, the cost of cement production will drop by Rs. 10/bag.

This decrease in coal prices will most likely benefit South-based companies such as Lucky Cement Limited (PSX: LUCK), D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited (PSX: DGKC), Power Cement Limited (PSX: POWER), and Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (PSX: ACPL).
