Jazz has earned the top place in key categories in Opensignal’s latest Mobile Network Experience Report, highlighting the digital operator’s leadership in coverage and connectivity. Opensignal is an independent analytics company specializing in measuring global mobile network experiences.
The report highlights Jazz’s strong performance in 4G availability, coverage experience, live video experience, and upload speed, positioning it ahead of its competitors in Pakistan.
According to Opensignal’s findings, Jazz secured the highest 4G availability score of 90.4, surpassing Zong (89.0), Telenor (84.4), and Ufone (79.9). In terms of overall coverage experience, Jazz led with a score of 6.3 on a 10-point scale, followed by Zong (5.3), Telenor (4.8), and Ufone (3.3).
The live video experience, an increasingly important metric in the era of digital content consumption, also saw Jazz in the lead with a score of 35. Ufone followed with 31.4, while Zong and Telenor lagged behind at 29.4 and 20.2, respectively.
Similarly, the upload speed experience was another area where Jazz outperformed competitors, delivering an average speed of 6.1 Mbps. Zong came in close at 5.9 Mbps, while Ufone and Telenor trailed at 3.8 Mbps and 1.8 Mbps, respectively.
Opensignal’s newly introduced Coverage Experience metric quantifies the geographic coverage of populated areas on a 10-point scale, reflecting real-world network accessibility. Jazz again led this ranking with a score of 6.1, ahead of Zong (5.5), Telenor (4.8), and Ufone (3.1).
Beyond Opensignal’s analysis, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) latest annual report underscores Jazz’s leadership in the telecom sector. The operator holds a 46.3% revenue market share, followed by Zong (22%), Telenor (19.5%), Ufone (11.6%), and SCO (0.3%). Jazz also leads in subscriber base, serving over 72 million customers, including over 51 million 4G users—the highest among all operators in Pakistan.
In line with its digital transformation strategy, Jazz recently became the first operator in Pakistan to shut down its 3G network, completing the transition in November 2024. The move, part of its “4G for All” strategy, is aimed at reallocating spectrum resources from 3G to 4G to enhance user experience.
