Meteor Fireball Lights Up Karachi’s Night Sky [Video]

Residents of Karachi were left in awe as a bright fireball blazed through the night sky in the early hours of Monday. The rare celestial event was captured by several onlookers, with videos quickly spreading across social media.

According to eyewitnesses, the fiery object appeared around 2:43 a.m., streaking across the sky before vanishing. Many described it as a fast-moving, glowing orange light that burned brightly before fading.

Astronomers explain that such meteor events are a common occurrence, with thousands of space rocks and particles entering Earth’s atmosphere daily. These meteors, often referred to as “shooting stars,” are fragments of asteroids that ignite upon contact with the Earth’s atmosphere due to friction and oxygen.

Experts highlight that while Earth is bombarded with hundreds of tons of space dust and small rocks daily, most are no larger than a grain of sand and go unnoticed. However, larger fireballs like the one seen over Karachi can occasionally create a spectacular display.

While the exact origin of this meteor remains unclear, scientists emphasize that such sightings are part of natural cosmic activity, occurring multiple times a year across different parts of the world.
