Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team Wins Double Gold in South Africa

The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Team secured a major victory at the South Africa F-Class National Long Range Championship 2025 by winning double gold medals, defeating the host nation—ranked number one in the world—on their home ground.

The team won the Vice President Team Match with a score of 1168/1200, and the Chairman’s Team Cup—the most prestigious event of the tournament—with 1174/1200.

Team members included Lieutenant General Ahsan, Asad Waheed, Ubaid Ibrahim, Huzaifa Gul, Junaid Waqas, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali, and Sepoy Waleed. Wind coaching was provided by South Africa’s Hennie Gerber and Julius Hartman.

In individual events, Pakistan won 11 medals—5 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. Lt. Col. Junaid Ali emerged as the top performer with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Notable wins included Sepoy Waleed’s gold in the Scottish Sword Match, and Asad Waheed’s gold in the Jack Michley Match.

Pakistan began its international journey in 2023, placing fifth at the F-Class World Championship. The team later won the European FTR Teams Championship and set multiple records. These achievements reflect merit, discipline, and hard work. With continued support from the Army Chief, the team aims to achieve even greater success.
