Sindh Announces Financial Compensation for Martyrs and Injured in Indian Attack

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah confirmed on Friday that seven individuals from the province lost their lives in the recent Indian aggression, according to a report by ARY News.

Among the deceased were six Pakistan Air Force personnel stationed in Bolari and one civilian, Mukhtiar Leghari, from Ghotki. The Chief Minister announced financial assistance of Rs. 10 million for each martyr’s family and Rs. 1 million for those injured.

He shared these remarks with the media following a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the New Sindh Secretariat in observance of Pakistan’s National Day of Gratitude—celebrated in recognition of the country’s successful response to Indian hostilities.

In his address, Shah honored the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, declaring that “defending the homeland is the primary duty of every citizen” and applauding the nation’s armed forces for their strong and united response. He also praised the people of Sindh for their unwavering patriotism and resilience.

The Chief Minister highlighted the vital role played by Sindh’s youth in safeguarding the nation and reaffirmed the province’s solidarity with the armed forces in confronting external threats. He stressed that the people of Sindh remain alert to hostile agendas and are united in defending national interests.

Responding to a media query, Shah mentioned that the day’s ceremonies were part of a broader national observance initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He added that he would later pay his respects at the Martyrs’ Monument in Malir Cantonment and participate in a special session at the Sindh Assembly dedicated to national unity and Pakistan’s defensive triumph.

Regarding the upcoming provincial budget, Shah said it is being developed under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari. He noted that key priorities include clean drinking water, sanitation, solar energy, healthcare, education, and rebuilding infrastructure damaged by floods.

Despite economic limitations due to IMF agreements, the Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to presenting a budget that addresses public needs and promotes welfare.
