Security Advisory Issued for Schools in Entire Province

In response to the recent deadly attack on a school bus in Balochistan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has heightened security across all educational institutions in the province.

A province-wide security advisory has been issued, especially targeting schools in Peshawar and other high-risk areas.

The Education Department, in collaboration with district administrations and local police, has initiated an emergency security plan aimed at protecting students, teachers, and staff. Special Secretary for Education, Qaiser Alam, stated that directives have been dispatched to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and school principals to conduct detailed security assessments of their institutions.

“We are committed to using every available resource to ensure the safety of our students and educators,” said Qaiser Alam. “A joint security framework is being developed in coordination with the police and district authorities.”

Under the new security guidelines, schools must install effective monitoring systems at all entry and exit points. Deployment of trained security personnel is now mandatory, and CCTV surveillance systems are required for constant monitoring.

Furthermore, schools have been instructed to conduct awareness sessions on safety protocols for students. Each institution must also implement an emergency alert mechanism and establish a clear evacuation plan in case of any threat.

This crackdown on school security follows a devastating suicide bombing near Khuzdar’s Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta National Highway, where at least five individuals, including three children, lost their lives. Several others were injured when explosives planted in a roadside vehicle were detonated remotely as a school bus passed by.

Authorities have confirmed that the device was triggered as the school bus neared the vehicle, and a full investigation is underway to identify those responsible.
