The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that all students enrolled in public sector schools will be provided with furniture in the next fiscal year. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur directed authorities to ensure that no student in government schools has to sit on the floor due to a lack of furniture.
The Chief Minister emphasized that funds for school furniture will be made available on a priority basis as part of the province’s ongoing educational emergency. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to improving basic facilities in schools, including access to proper furniture, functional washrooms, and clean drinking water.
In addition, the Chief Minister instructed the launch of a special program to improve the quality of education in government schools. This includes mandatory modern training for all newly recruited teachers.
The decisions were made during a meeting to finalize the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the upcoming financial year. The meeting was attended by key provincial officials and focused on reviewing and finalizing development proposals from various departments.
The Chief Minister stated that the new ADP will prioritize practical projects that address the real needs of communities, with a focus on completing ongoing projects and uplifting underdeveloped regions. He assured that development funds will be allocated fairly across all constituencies in the province.
