KP Announces Massive Change in Upper Age Limit for Government Jobs

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially introduced a comprehensive age relaxation policy for candidates aiming to join the public sector.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Secretary, the revised policy allows a general upper age relaxation of up to 10 years for various categories of government jobs.

Under the new rules, candidates applying for Grade 17 and above positions will be eligible for a 10-year age relaxation. The same concession applies to Secretariat posts of Grade 16 and below.

For non-Secretariat positions, the authority to grant age relaxation has been delegated to the respective Administrative Secretaries and heads of departments.

The policy also includes special provisions for the families of government employees martyred in acts of terrorism. Widows and children of these employees will receive additional benefits under the revised rules.

This development comes as part of broader reforms, including an amendment to the Civil Servants Rules 2008, highlighting the provincial government’s commitment to inclusive and accessible employment opportunities.
